Our Programs

St Winifred Food Pantry’s mission is to feed food-insecure individuals and families living predominantly in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

We support our community through the Senior Box Program, home deliveries for the homebound and those without transportation, and Christmas gifts for children through local parishes’ Angel Giving Trees.

St Winifred Food Pantry:

We are open by appointment only each Wednesday and Saturday from 9:15 AM to 11:15 AM (last appointment available at 11:00 AM). Text or call 412-819-6518 to schedule your appointment.

 

St Michael the Archangel Food Pantry:

We are open by appointment only Monday through Friday at 310 Kane Blvd, and you can call 412-200-2244 to schedule your appointment (please leave a message and we will return your call).

What is available?

We are supported solely by community-based donations. We are deeply grateful for the generous support of parishioners from Our Lady of Hope, Resurrection, St. Paul of the Cross, and St. Michael the Archangel, as well as the St. Vincent de Paul and Ladies of Charity Conferences, and the South Hills and St. Michael the Archangel Knights of Columbus.

Our main food source is the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. We also receive funding from the Pittsburgh Foundation Emergency Action Fund, along with generous donations and support from the Castle Shannon Shop ‘n Save.

Each Week We Distribute:

  • Fresh Produce
  • Frozen Foods* (including meats, poultry, fish, and pork)
  • Dairy Items (including eggs, cheese, margarine; yogurt and milk when available)
  • Staple Items (such as canned goods, rice, pasta, and cereal)
  • Bread and Bakery Goods (donated by the Cochran Road and Market District Giant Eagle stores, as well as Kuhn’s Market on Banksville Road)
  • Personal Care & Hygiene Essentials* (along with baby food, diapers and wipes)
  • Paper Products & Cleaning Products*
  • Pet Food (when available from generous donors)
